Windshield Repair Questions:
- Can I drive my car imediately after a windshield
repair?
Yes. No drying time is involved during the windshield repair process.
- How long will windshield repair last?
A properly performed windshield repair should last indefinately.
- How long does it take to perform windshield repair?
The actual windshield repair process can take between 5 and 30 minutes to complete.
- Will my auto insurance pay for windshield repair?
Auto insurance will cover windshield repair in most states but does count as a comprehensive claim. My thought is... why file a claim for such a minimal expense. Be sure to check with your insurance agent for further details if you're planning to file a claim for your windshield repair.
- How long should I wait to have a windshield repair
performed?
The sooner you have a windshield repair performed the better. Waiting to repair a chip or crack in your windshield will allow more debris to enter the damage which can cause it to continue breaking.
- Will I still see the damage after the windshield repair has been performed?
This will depend on the type, size and age of the chip. In my experience most windshield repairs are between 60% and 80% less visible when repaired.
